Note: When the film first appeared in Rio cinemas on Sep. 21, 1909, it was shown at the 'Cinema Pathé' as "Formiga tem catarro" and at the 'Cinema Odeon' as "O Mocinho". Although the 'Cinema Pathé' changed it to "O Mocinho" the next day, some other cinemas showed the film as "Formiga ..." during the following days. When re-released during the following years, it was mostly seen as "O Mocinho", which seems to translate into something like "The good guy". In Rio it was the 4th film to be shown in the 1909 "Max Linder"-series (The series started off with "Querido pela creada" [/Aimée par sa bonne] on 17.Aug.09, followed by "Aventuras de um namorado" [/Le petit jeune homme] on 3.Sep.09 and "Namorado da mulher barbada" [/Amoureux de la femme à barbe] on 14.Sep.09). All the following films of the year could be matched with their respective original titles. According to an internet search, the term "Formiga tem catarro" (/the ant has catarrh) is used to scold precocious behavior in children.

― In the 1990s the French film historian Henri Bousquet published his multi-volume “restoration”-work of the whole Pathé output Catalogue Pathé des années 1896 à 1914 [Vol. I-IV] and De Pathé Frères à Pathé cinéma [Vol. I+II]. For his work he relied on two contemporary “Registres Pathé” which he claimed to contain “all the films produced, edited or distributed by Pathé Frères between 1907 and 1926” (Foreword Vol.3). Since Pathé had continuously numbered its output it was possible to compare it to films included in the register. It showed, that of all numbers issued between July and Sep. 1909, the period in which this title must have been released, about 95% could be attributed to a title (for 7 numbers there was no title found).]
